Located in the beautiful area of Chelmsford, Essex. This stunning townhouse has been extended, adding a single-story extension. The extension created the perfect space for a kitchen, with floor to ceiling bespoke steel windows, creating a bright and airy space, ideal for both unwinding and socialising.
The Main Company first met the owners of this beautiful property at the Grand Designs Live Show at Birmingham NEC and worked together to create the perfect kitchen for the space, discussing many variations. One of the biggest challenges we had, was trying to make an island work in the space, we finally came up with the peninsular idea, which maximised the available space perfectly and we think it looks fabulous.
The kitchen offers a much-loved and sought-after aesthetic and is a stunning modern twist on a classic shaker style. The grey, teal, brass, exposed brick and reclaimed wood, work perfectly together, creating a truly beautiful space to be enjoyed.
The kitchen boasts an array of cupboards, from the peninsular pan drawers to a full-length larder cupboard, there’s plenty of storage space for the owners. On top of this, we also utilised the existing doorway, installing reclaimed shelving to make use of what would have been wasted space. The cabinets were handcrafted at our workshop in Green Hammerton, in the heart of Yorkshire and have been finished using ‘Tea with Florence’ paint by The Little Greene Paint Company. The homeowners opted for some stylish brass handles by Buster + Punch and heavy metal pendants, to tie together the look.
The kitchen has been finished to the highest of standards and also benefits from many luxurious features. One of these being the Nikola Tesla Prime Hob, located on the peninsular. The hob works perfectly here, creating the perfect place to cook and chat with family and friends.
We simply love how the kitchen works in this space, complemented by natural textures such as the exposed brick and herringbone flooring. The combination of colours creates a rich, warm space that has been finished beautifully with an array of accessories, including plants and crockery.
