FAQ: Traditional by Main Furniture

Like any significant purchase for the home, there are lots of questions that need answering. We get a lot of people interested in our Traditional by Main furniture designs. With this comes familiar questions that we are always answering. This page should help answer the most common ones.

FAQ: Traditional by Main Furniture

Q1. What is the lead time?

As standard, our lead time is 8-10 weeks from order.

Q2. Is there a delivery charge?

Yes. Delivery costs of your piece will be calculated at checkout.

Q3. Can I collect my furniture?

Yes. Any of our pieces can be collected from our Yorkshire Showroom.

Q4. Can I make the furniture to my own dimensions?

Yes. Please contact our sales team and they can provide a bespoke cost.

Q5. Where is your furniture manufactured?

All our furniture is manufactured in our Yorkshire workshops in Green Hammerton.

Q6. Can I change my order once placed?

Please get in touch with our sales team as soon as possible and we can advise if this is possible.

Q7. Can I arrange my own courier service?

Yes. We can advise when your piece will be ready for collection.

Q8. Do I get touch up paint with my order?

Yes. A small touch up paint pot is provided with every order.

Q9. What are the internals made of?

All our Traditional by Main cabinetry internals are made from solid pine.

Q10. How do I look after my furniture?

For the paintwork we use Little Greene Intelligent eggshell for all our pieces, this finish is fully washable. Touch up paint is also provided if you do manage to chip or mark the piece. 

For any exposed wood we recommend a dry cloth as any water residue can stain the timber.

Q11. Can I have different knobs fitted?

Yes. You can either select ‘none’ when customising your piece and install the knobs yourself. 

Q12. Do you make bespoke furniture?

Yes. If there’s some specific dimensions you’re working to we can accommodate this. Please get in touch and we can provide a personal quotation. 

Q13. Is there a charge if I want to return an item?

Yes. You will need to cover the cost of courier plus a 25% restocking fee will be applied.
