Kitchen peninsular with reclaimed tiles and aged brass metalcabinets

Bespoke Kitchen Project 34 - Whitechapel

Warm and welcoming are just two of the words that first come to mind when you set your eyes on this stunning space. Known for its culture and art exhibitions, Whitechapel is a vibrant district in the East End of London and this property reflects just that.

If you’re a fan of The Main Company, you will know that we are passionate about rustic, reclaimed materials and this space comprises everything that we love, mixing natural textures like concrete, brick, and wood, and the end result is outstanding.

Floor to ceiling Crittal style windows create a light and airy space, allowing the homeowners to go for darker, bolder accent colours throughout the penthouse apartment. The kitchen cabinetry has a Brushed Brass Finish, complementing the surrounding exposed brick perfectly, adding a vintage feel to the space along with other features such as a classic Butler sink. The handless cupboards add a modern touch, creating a kitchen that will last for years to come. The handless cabinetry and solid oaks drawers have been topped with concrete worktops as well as a concrete splashback beneath the Elica extractor.

The homeowners were keen to create a social space, where they could entertain or simply interact whilst cooking, so we also created an integrated breakfast bar. The breakfast bar has been finished off using reclaimed encaustic tiles in rich, warm colours, tying the space together wonderfully. The breakfast bar also looks out on the stunning views of the Gherkin that this penthouse apartment has to offer.

This open plan living area has it all, plenty of space, character, and interior style sure to induce envy! Every single detail has been thought out, from the brushed brass wall plugs to the light fittings, this space is just beautiful and can be enjoyed from the room itself, or from the outside in on the wrap-around balcony.

The Main Company also supplied a timeless Aged Parquet Floor, this was fitted throughout the apartment, creating a seamless transition from room to room. All of our flooring has been reclaimed from interesting buildings and meticulously handcrafted, enhancing natural features and creating a stable base for the modern-day home. We are sure that you will agree that our Aged Parquet flooring finishes this space off perfectly.
