FAQ: Our Sliding Barn Doors

Sliding barn doors are a great way of creating a partition to any room or open area, or creating a feature to a blank wall. In the same way our kitchens and furniture are bespoke to a customers measurements and needs, our sliding barn doors can be manufactured to bespoke measurements and finishes. We get a lot of people interested in our sliding barn doors. With this comes familiar questions that we are always answering.

FAQ: Sliding Barn Door

Q1. What finish is the sliding barn door at the top of the page?

Brown Spruce.

Q2. Is it possible to get samples of the door finishes?

Yes – You can purchase them here.

Q3. is it possible to buy additional timber in whatever finish we choose?

Yes. Please email images to us and we can advise.

Q4. Do the sliding doors have a metal trim around the edge?

No. The doors are lipped and colour matched to the same material that you choose.

Q5. What thickness are the sliding doors?

44 (+/-2)mm. If you require a bespoke thickness it can be arranged.

Q6. How is the sliding barn door delivered?

All doors are dispatched via pallet or collection can be arranged at our Yorkshire Showroom.

Q7. Do you have any installation instructions?

Yes. We provide these in the sliding door mechanism. You can also view them online here.

Q8. How big should I make my door(s)?

Your door should always be wider and higher than the opening. As a minimum we suggest 40mm per side and 40mm above. Do take in to consideration if you have architrave and/or skirting.

Q9. How high from the floor is the sliding barn door?

We recommend 5mm. This can be determined during installation.

Q10. What is your delivery time?

Sliding Barn Doors = Allow up to 6-8 weeks

FAQ: Sliding Barn Rail

Q1. Can the door mechanism be made to our requirements?

Yes. As a general rule we double the rail to the size of door you order.

Q2. What's the distance from the top of the door to the top of the rail system?

Allow 120mm.

Q3. Does the rail system come with a mechanism to prevent the barn door swinging away from the wall?

Yes, we provide a concealed fin that the door slides along.

Q4. Can I buy just the sliding door mechanism?

Q5. Are there different finishes of sliding rails?

Yes: Raw, Matt Black, Rusted, Oil Rubbed.

Q6. Do you have any installation instructions?

Yes. We provide these in the sliding door mechanism. You can also view them online here.

Q7. How heavy is the sliding rail?

7-10kg

Q8. How big are the sliding rail packers?

They are bespoke per order. We take in to account the door thickness and if you have and architrave and/or skirting boards.

Q9. Do you provide wall fixings?

Yes. Everything is provided in our sliding rail kit.

Q10. What is your delivery time?

Sliding Rail = Allow up to 3 Weeks

Q11.How much weight can the Barn Door Hardware support?

Each wheel bearing has a 250kg capacity.
