Kindred is a member’s club, located in the heart of London. Surrounded by the buzz of city life and stunning architecture, the aim of Kindred is to offer a welcoming and relaxing space.
The light and airy space features a café, bar, restaurant, live event space, meeting rooms and co-working space, with the main focus on bringing people together. Something this space definitely achieves. The high ceilings and large windows create a sun-soaked space, with modern interiors complemented by original features such as cornicing. The look is completed using gold detailing and sumptuous velvets, giving the opulence and luxurious feel that you would expect from a London member’s only club.
The Main Company was selected by Shaw Studios thanks to our expertise and flexibility to create bespoke flooring. Luca from Shaw Studio was specifically looking for an oak that was both warm and rustic at the same time, something that we delivered perfectly. The Main Company provided an engineered solution that could be fitted on to the concrete base, saving both time and money for the contractors.
Our Reclaimed Engineered Old Oak was the ideal choice for this space; it was supplied in random widths with burnt tones running throughout. The planks supplied worked perfectly with the surrounding architecture and interiors, sympathetic to the original charm and character of the building. The hand rolled edges of the planks and original pegs, randomly intersecting the boards are a nod to their previous life in European agricultural buildings. Although it’s a large and bright space, the warm tones of the oak stop the rooms from feeling cold and really pop amongst the cooler tones throughout the interiors.
Each and every plank that we use at The Main Company has been salvaged and restored by our experts at our Yorkshire showroom and has been finished to the highest of standards.
