Belstaffs flagship store is located on the desirable Regent Street in London. Designer stores galore, Regent Street is renowned worldwide for its opulent buildings and big household names. Offering an eclectic mix of independent retailers and long-established brands, it was this and the nearby buzz of Soho that made Regent Street the ideal location for their flagship store.
The Main Company has worked on a number of Belstaff stores, but it was especially exciting to be involved in their flagship store. As well as housing their much-loved clothing, Belstaff Regent Street is also a social space, with barista coffee and perfectly mixed G&T on hand, plus curated events, from screenings to podcast recordings.
Many of the Belstaff values are similar to ours, we pride ourselves on quality and great craftsmanship. The brand is steeped in British heritage, something that we wanted to capture in the materials used. The idea of the store was to showcase their community first approach, with their goal being to create an immersive experience for customers. Not only do they want to inspire customers, they also want the space to excite and inspire staff, creating an environment that people love to work.
We have provided bespoke products to many retail spaces and we know the importance of complementing the space, rather than providing something that will divert attention. Our Reclaimed Engineered Oak flooring was the perfect choice, not only does it look great, but it has been hand-finished, creating a durable surface, ideal for a store with a heavy foot fall, especially in such a prominent location. The layout and décor is similar to that of the Spitalfields store that we supplied flooring for, the Reclaimed Engineered Oak has a classy and rustic appearance, and allows the industrial style interior and clothing to shine. The subtle tones of the Oak are complemented by the addition of Aztec and Jute rugs and railings.
Each and every plank has been salvaged from handpicked, interesting buildings. Our team then works incredibly hard to restore the planks, enhancing the natural features of the wood, intensifying the patina and preserving any interesting markings. Once finished, the planks are treated with an oil, creating a durable surface. We supplied the planks in a variety of widths and lengths adding to the personality of the space.
