Designing a Concrete Kitchen

We’ve used concrete in many of our bespoke kitchen designs. The Cattal project was our first kitchen to introduce concrete, the design had two large textured shelving units on a huge kitchen island. From then on we’ve seen concrete used as worktops, as in our Islington kitchen and as a sink in our Cornwall design. We have even used concrete as doors, which can be seen in our latest Earnley project

Our design team have been hard at work to display concrete in yet another exiting and refreshing way. Taking inspiration from beach houses in Spain we’ve managed to combine our love of wood and concrete together for our next kitchen design.

Many of our kitchen designers use Pinterest to aid their design process. The image you see on the left is a pinned image of a concrete kitchen beach house. The simple and raw design is exactly what we wanted, to let the materials do the talking. The result is what you can see to the right, a seamless concrete worktop with an inset reclaimed kitchen unit.

Seamless Concrete Edges

As manufacturers we are always working with tight tolerances. This project was no different as we needed to make sure that the solid concrete kitchen worktop with a waterfall edge seamlessly fit with our reclaimed cabinets. We love how the rustic timber undulation is met with stark crisp concrete, what do you think?

The Design Process

Concrete Kitchen Run

All our projects take months of careful planning and preparation. This one has been years in the making with countless prototypes to make sure the tolerances are just right. We’re fortunate to have a tight knit design team, combined with our strong relationship with The Poured Project the end result is exactly as specified by the client (see above).

Why Choose Concrete?

Concrete kitchen worktop

As we discussed last year, all our concrete worktops are manufactured to order with bespoke moulds right here in Yorkshire. Versatile and incredibly durable, concrete has a raw beauty akin to natural stone but can be combined with an array of pigments and cast into any shape. This means that, with our expertise, the possibilities for bespoke design are endless. The end product provides you a high quality and premium product.
