The Main Company were delighted to work with Pizza Union on their latest location opening in the historic and stunning location of Westminster. Just a stone’s throw away from world famous buildings and monuments, Pizza Union offers an aesthetically pleasing and instagrammable location, serving authentic and high-quality pizzas that are simply delicious.
The opulent and historic surroundings seep into the building itself and is something that was kept in mind throughout the transformation. The industrial feel of the building lends itself perfectly to the surroundings and offers the perfect location for a pit-stop and refuel. The industrial style trend is one that is timeless and also hard-wearing, which is perfect for the heavy footfall and use of Pizza Union. Classic marble is paired with contrasting black iron and exposed grey brick for a real wow-factor.
For the flooring, the team at Pizza Union wanted something that not only complemented the aesthetics of the store, but would be hard-wearing, high-quality and durable, and for that they chose our Reclaimed Barn Oak Raw Classic Lacquer. Restaurant flooring has to be able to cope with chairs moving hourly, spills and just general wear and tear, so it’s really important that good flooring is invested in.
Our Reclaimed Barn Oak offers the perfect solution, reclaimed oak has so much character and tends to get better with age, marks and scratches only enhance the look of the planks. Each and every one of our planks has been hand selected, in this case from a charming old barn. Our experts search high and low to ensure that we are sourcing the very best materials. Laid in a vertical formation in an array of widths and lengths, the rich tones of the wood are further enhanced by sun-kissed markings, complemented by cracks, knots and undulations. All planks are hand dried and treated with a raw lacquer at our family-run Yorkshire workshop, before being transported and fitted down in Westminster.
