Cocktails been made on long rustic reclaimed bar with copper worktop

Commercial Project 3 - Oyster Bar, UK

Here at The Main Company, we were delighted to be involved in this project. The Wild Rock Oyster Bar is a unique new food concept, offering a luxurious, pop-up catering option for events, dishing up the finest oysters and pairing them to perfection with champagne or cocktails.

Our client Natalie wanted to create a bar that followed her dreams and unique style. Together, working with our Project Manager and Designer, this soon evolved into a cool jazzy bar, perfect for serving oysters and fine champagne and wine. Bars should bring people together, and this is exactly what we helped the Oyster Bar achieve – a social, innovative bar that is adaptable to all kinds of parties and social circles.

As the bespoke bar was to be used at pop-up events, we built it in three separate sections and added wheels, making it easy for our client to both store and transport the beautiful bar. Lastly, the Aged Copper worktop was the perfect addition, the warm tones bring out the charm and character of the rustic wood and really make it pop.

As a company, The Wild Rock Oyster Bar are forward thinking when it comes to the environment and sustainability, they use only biodegradable and natural products with zero plastic and zero waste. It was important to them to work with a company that shared the same ethos and values, and sustainability is something we are passionate about. We spend countless hours, salvaging and reusing materials, bringing them back to life and enhancing original features.

With this in mind, our Grey Industrial Mill Board Cladding was the perfect choice. To us and the client, the rustic stripped paint effect perfectly encapsulated every ethos the Oyster Bar stands for and the variety of colours throughout the wood would mean it would work in an array of settings. The original painted industrial mill boards have been salvaged from an old textile mill, the boards have then been dried in our on-site kiln and cold pressed to a birch plywood substrate to make them stable and strong, this was a must due to the nature of the pop-up product.

The bar is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and works in every imaginable setting!
