Perhaps the last few months have showcased the need for a space to work within the home more than ever, and the transformation of this space happened at just the right time. This envious home office is part of a stunning property in the spa town of Harrogate. Located amongst tumbling fields and not too far from the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, this room captures the area perfectly.
Not only do The Main Company design and fit bespoke kitchens, but we can also work with you to create stunning bespoke furniture, whether that’s freestanding or built-in. This wrap-around style desk has been built in and offers plenty of space for working and lots of room for storage too, thanks to the integrated handless drawers and filing system. The desk has a floating appearance and is supported by black brackets, creating an industrial feel.
Our Antique Smokehouse was used for flooring throughout this space, adding texture and a natural feel to the room. Our Antique Smokehouse goes through a painstaking process at our Yorkshire workshop, using an array of hand ageing techniques to reach the perfect finish. The rich, dark patina flows through each plank, adding character in buckets. Original features are maintained, further adding to the natural appearance of the wood.
Here at The Main Company we can supply our woods in a variety of widths and lengths, within this Harrogate home we used a variety of widths to bring rustic charm to the space. The Oak has been finished with a hybrid oil to create a long-lasting and durable surface, and not only will the flooring stand the test of time, but the wood will also age beautifully too. Each plank has been hand spoked with the imperfect joints adding to the weathered appearance and natural beauty of the wood.
The flooring is further enhanced by the addition of vertical real wood cladding; this has been used wonderfully across three walls, creating a relaxing ambience and working space.
The space has been finished to perfection with the addition of shelves that add even more storage. Last but not least we also installed a sliding barn door. Our sliding barn doors can be supplied in a variety of wood types and can be configured in any way you desire. Not only do sliding doors look great, but they are also ideal for saving space and creating a charming focal point. This sliding door was created using the same oak as the cladding, creating an almost hidden shelving area.
