Thanks to the extension, the ground floor is now a fantastic living space for the family with a large open plan kitchen, utility room, boot room, and playroom too. The space is airy and bright, thanks to large windows that allow light to shine through and how the ground floor flows, from room to room.
As well as designing and fitting the kitchen and utility room, with a traditional style shaker kitchen and bespoke shelving, The Main Company also supplied the flooring for the living space. As a family of five and dog owners, it was especially important that not only did the flooring look good and tie into the overall aesthetic, but also practical and long-lasting.
The Main Company and the homeowners decided on our Black Smoked Oil Oak for this project. Our Black Smoked Oil Oak is a fantastic choice; it has a deep and rich texture as well as plenty of natural character. Each plank has been dried in our onsite kiln before being treated and undergoing the smoking process, highlighting and enhancing the grain and tones of the wood. As well as enhancing the wood, we maintain original markings and nail holes, ensuring a characterful addition to any home.
All of our wood has been salvaged and only the highest quality planks make the cut. Each and every plank has been hand treated and meticulously handcrafted. For this project, planks were supplied in a variety of widths for a truly rustic finish.
Our Black Smoked Oil Oak works perfectly within the surroundings of this home, complementing the rich green tones, black accents, and the French oak. The flooring creates a warm and inviting base for the space that will stand the test of time and improve with age.
