This stunning home is located in the desirable London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. As part of the project, we designed and manufactured a beautiful kitchen for the owners and supplied the flooring for the project too.
When designing the kitchen, the owners wanted to capture and embrace the urban surroundings of the property. The transformation of the kitchen and array of quality, natural materials used, make this an impressive space, full of character. The look has been completed with quirky features added by the owners that showcase their hobbies and personalities, such as wall-mounted bicycles and artwork.
The use of raw plywood throughout the kitchen creates a wonderful freshness, enhanced by the use of raw steel and concrete worktops. The look has been further intensified by the addition of greenery throughout the space, creating a beautiful, Scandinavian style environment. The bespoke kitchen has the perfect balance of elegance and boldness, the client wanted lots of storage throughout and this has been achieved through plywood cupboards with cut out handles, cupboards with fluted pantry glass, shelving and a kitchen island. To add depth and contrast to the light and airy space, we chose to use a bold retro style green colour for the units and main kitchen wall. Painted in Little Greene Paint Company’s ‘Three Farm Green’, the colour offers a modern twist to a much-loved classic.
Less is more for this kitchen, the simple island works beautifully in this space and complements the surroundings, creating a central point the family can enjoy. The hanging rack completes the island area and has been beautifully styled, adding character to the space.
For the flooring we used our Reclaimed Douglas Fir Nordic White Flooring, this parred back, and simple plank was the perfect choice for achieving the desired Scandinavian style, the cool colour tones and pale grain ensure the rich, retro feel kitchen is the main focal point of the space. The wood has a natural matte finish and has been finished with a raw lacquer, creating an easy to maintain and durable surface.
Surrounding the kitchen, the living space provides a relaxing atmosphere, where friends and family can gather. This space is full of character and personal touches and will be enjoyed for years to come.
