Set in wondrous countryside, Eagle Mill is an 18th century millworker’s cottage with a purpose built, architect designed bed and breakfast extension attached. The location couldn’t be better, with the market towns of Huntingdon and St Ives just miles away or Cambridge or London can be reached in less than an hour. The area is also surrounded by countryside and river walks of the Ouse valley.
Although new, the extension has been sympathetically built, capturing the beauty and character of the original building. For the Eagle Mill project, we were pleased to supply the flooring throughout, complementing the luxurious country house feel, whilst adding a rustic touch.
Within the breakfast room our Engineered Distillery Oak was used for the flooring. A timeless and elegant choice, the Oak comprises a darker, cool tone, complemented by a rustic grain. The ideal choice for anybody wanting to achieve a characterful and rustic ambience. A selection of hand finishing techniques have been used to create this highly desirable Oak. The Distillery Oak complements the Duck Egg blue cabinetry perfectly, offsetting the cooler colour with its rich hue. The room was complete with our impressive bistro tables, the original mill board is cold pressed onto birch plywood making them a durable and stable table that will stand the test of time. The rustic aesthetic of the mill board completed beautiful breakfast room.
Each and every plank goes through our on-site kiln, ridding it of excess moisture and creating a hardwearing wood, perfect for a bed and breakfast environment. Our Distillery Oak can also be found in one of the bedrooms, paired perfectly with exposed wooden beams and panel detail, creating the perfect blend of opulence and country chic, finished beautifully with a free-standing bathtub and velvet chairs.
Our Reclaimed Oak was also used in another of the bedrooms, a slightly cooler and more weathered wood, this was the perfect choice to sit alongside the browns and blacks used throughout the interiors. Not only do the rooms look outstanding, each room is crammed with luxuries, ensuring your stay will be memorable.
All our wood is supplied to specification, to a width and length to match your requirements. Our stunning flooring is also compatible with under floor heating, making it the ideal choice all year round. All our wood has been carefully sourced and meticulously handcrafted to the highest of standards.
