Bespoke Kitchen Project 58 - Bayswater

A Modern Marvel: Dark and Sleek Kitchen Project in Bayswater, London

In the heart of Bayswater, London, a recently completed kitchen project stands as a testament to the fusion of contemporary design and practicality. The clients envisioned a space that embraces dark tones, marrying them with elements of brass and a striking white quartz. The outcome is a sophisticated and enticing culinary haven that seamlessly incorporates modern amenities while respecting the character of the home.

The clients opted for a bold choice with dark walls and engineered wood cabinets, creating a luxurious yet inviting atmosphere. The dark stained, grooved and band sawn oak cabinets paired with the dark walls, exude a sense of opulence and modernity. The addition of brass hardware from Buster and Punch further elevates the overall aesthetic, adding a touch of warmth to the space.

To counterbalance the dark tones, the kitchen features chunky white quartz countertops with thick and thin black veins cutting through, offering a stunning contrast. This choice not only enhances the visual appeal but also ensures a practical and durable surface for cooking and other daily kitchen activities.

The flooring, adorned in a dark wood parquet pattern, ties the room together and complements the overall theme. The kitchen layout and specific colourways presented the challenge of overcrowding of space. To address this, we opted for a grey foxed mirror backsplash which is a brilliant way of creating the illusion of space and elongating the room. The kitchen layout is an embodiment of modern design principles, opting for a single-wall configuration paired with an island. The island, touching the wall, houses a sleek modern hob with in-built extraction, eliminating the need for a bulky hood and fostering an open and airy ambiance.

The island is a multifunctional marvel, not only serving as a cooking station but also accommodating a wine cooler and providing seating for a breakfast counter. This integration of features optimises space and enhances the kitchen’s functionality. The kitchen seamlessly integrates appliances such as the refrigerator, ovens, and microwave into tall units. This design choice ensures a cohesive and streamlined look, maintaining the sleek and modern appearance desired by the clients.
