We had the pleasure of collaborating with the talented team at Fred and Ginger a remarkable residential flooring project. We supplied our Reclaimed Weathered Barn Oak for this project. Nestled close to the ocean, the home is bathed in natural light that streams through its expansive windows.
What made this project particularly special was the extensive use of our hand-finished wood. From floors and walls to ceilings, table tops, stair treads, vanity units, and even sofa bases, our weathered barn oak found its way into every corner of the space. This remarkable versatility of wood in interior design is a testament to its magical qualities—able to seamlessly blend into any environment while infusing it with warmth and character.
One of the most notable aspects of this project is how it refutes the misconception that wood is a strictly traditional material in design. Here, we see wood effortlessly integrated into a modern setting, enhancing the overall aesthetic. It’s a beautiful illustration of how wood can elevate contemporary spaces, adding depth and texture without overpowering the design.
Another common misconception about wood, is that it cannot be used in areas where there is exposure to water. We have successfully used wood in several projects like this in bathrooms for flooring, cladding and vanity units. As seen in this project the wood flooring continues from the bedroom into the bathroom, complementing the white tub and contrasting the dark crittall doors with frosted glass.
