We first met Toni from Meat Me Bistro, back in 2015. Toni was taken aback by our ‘Bistro Table’ at The Great Yorkshire Show and the rest was history. At The Main Company, it is important for us to build a relationship with our customers and to really understand what it is that they want to achieve and how we can help them do so.
The brief given to us by Meat Me Bistro was ‘Jamie Oliver’ in feel, rustic reclaimed, very rubbed back paint finishes, mixed materials, functional for staff movement and work processes, comfortable and to stand out as completely different from anything or anyone else’.
The Bistro, located in Milton Keynes, was years in the making. Many espressos and napkin drawings later, the design for the Bistro was complete. The Meat Me Bistro portion sizes are very generous, and we had to work closely with other suppliers such as the refrigeration company to create a finished result that worked for everybody involved
Our reclaimed wood was the perfect option for the space, achieving Toni’s desire for a rustic reclaimed feel. We used the wood throughout, creating a frame for lights to hang from, work surfaces, seating areas, and bar area. Our reclaimed wood really can be used anywhere! To help intensify the reclaimed feel of the Bistro, we used a selection of planks with a rubbed back paint finish, this worked really well alongside the furnishings and helped tie together the overall look. All of the wood has been finished to the highest of standards, creating a durable and long-lasting surface, ideal for a busy Bistro.
All of our wood is salvaged from a variety of interesting buildings, from barns to old schools, each plank tells a tale. Our master craftsmen work meticulously at our workshop in North Yorkshire, restoring each and every plank, intensifying features like the natural patinas and knots, creating an unrivaled finish.
