Painted Lamp Black shaker cabinets make up kitchen island with Caesarstone and oak worktop

Bespoke Kitchen Project 19 - Wighill

Set within the old stables of a traditional Yorkshire farmhouse, the latest bespoke kitchen project by The Main Company has been carefully designed to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the property – a characterful home celebrating over 300 years of history. Featuring original materials that are hundreds of years old, including reclaimed wooden beams and brick walls, the bespoke kitchen needed to incorporate a rustic and reclaimed feel to honour the heritage of the building.

Now, the new bespoke kitchen offers a beautiful but relaxed environment for the homeowners, filled with charm and character. Liveable and family-friendly, the space provides a central hub of the home that is also extremely practical. Featuring two dishwashers and two ovens, the kitchen is also perfectly suited for lots of entertaining which was a priority for the homeowner, who enjoys having guests over on a weekly basis.

The Shaker-style cabinetry is painted in Little Greene’s Lamp Black and French Grey with industrial handles and a combination of materials, from stainless steel to Caeserstone and engineered reclaimed wooden oak chosen for the worktops. The kitchen has no wall cupboards – just open rustic shelving – which was the ideal choice to suit the laid-back feeling where people are just able to help themselves. The kitchen also features a statement breakfast bar with an reclaimed engineered oak counter, perfect for family meals and plenty of storage hidden away inside. Completing the rustic, country aesthetic, vintage wire mirrored doors lead through to a large walk-in pantry. Accessories such as lighting, signs and furniture were sourced from a local reclamation yard to bring the look together, and finished off by stunning arched exterior doors. As beautiful as it is functional, this bespoke kitchen now provides a welcoming and inviting space that is perfectly suited for the constantly busy dynamics of family life.
