The Main Company worked closely with Belstaff to bring to life their visions for their Spitalfield store. Spitalfield is a quirky area of London, brimming with artists and other creatives, this is evident from the street art and quirky stores in the area. Although the brand is steeped in British heritage they have a worldwide presence and even a café in their Munich store offering fabulous city views. Wherever the location. Belstaff are focused on their retail spaces showcasing their community first approach, something that can be sensed within each location.
Here at The Main Company we have worked with many brands and we know how important it is to find a product that fits the space, it’s crucial that the surroundings don’t overpower the products and this is something that is considered throughout the design process. Our Designer and Project Manager worked closely with the Belstaff team to supply flooring that worked beautifully alongside the high-quality and luxurious items, reinforcing their timeless and classic brand and values.
Practicality is just as important as aesthetics and as the space is a retail space, the flooring used needed to be hardwearing and durable, to withstand the large footfall of a London location. Our Reclaimed Engineered Weathered Barn flooring was the perfect choice for the space. The earthy brown and silvery tones created the perfect base for the store and tied in wonderfully with the high-end Belstaff products. The tones of the wood have been brought out by the stylish surroundings. Deep leathers, exposed brickwork and rich, colourful rugs intensify the patina and grain of the wood perfectly.
Our Weathered Barn Oak brings charm and character to the space. At The Main Company we salvage our wood from a variety of interesting buildings. Our barn oak has been salvaged from old European agricultural barns and has been meticulously restored by our master craftsmen at our Yorkshire workshop. In this instance, the wood has been supplied and fitted in a variety of widths and lengths, adding to the personality of the space.
